About Our Chapter

The Golden Corridor Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) consists of administrative professionals from diverse backgrounds and professions. As the world's leading organization for office professionals, we provide the programs to assist you in maintaining the highest level of professional standards. We meet every month throughout the year except July, August and December. Our usual meeting day is on the third Thursday of every month (except July, August and December) at Zurich North America in Schaumburg, Illinois. Contact Linda Clark for more information.

The Golden Corridor Chapter was chartered in Schaumburg, Illinois on April 27, 1997. Although there are certainly enough benefits to joining IAAP alone, Golden Corridor tries to offer some special benefits exclusively for our members. We send out a newsletter called Golden Opportunities packed with information and useful articles and tips. We allow our members' companies to post free administrative job notices. We hosted the PEP (Professional Enrichment Program) program September 16, 2000 at the Hyatt Woodfield in Schaumburg, IL. and we hosted the 2005 IDAM program at the Marriott Northwest, Prairie Stone in Hoffman Estates April 22 - 24, 2005.

About IAAP

The International Association of Administrative Professionals is a not-for-profit professional association for office professionals with approximately 40,000 members and affiliates and nearly 600 chapters worldwide. Our mission is to enhance the success of career-minded administrative professionals by providing opportunities for growth through education, community building and leadership development. The association founded in 1942 as the National Secretaries Association to provide a professional network and educational resources for secretarial staff. The association's name was changed in 1998 to the International Association of Administrative Professionals to encompass the large number of varied administrative job titles and recognize the advancing role of administrative support staff in business and government.
